British Columbia (B.C.) is the westernmost province in Canada. Due to its coastal location, it is considered the gateway to the Pacific and Asia. Its placement makes it the warmest province and, although the nearby mountains do offer some of the best skiing in Canada. B.C. also includes Vancouver Island (not to be confused with the city of Vancouver on the mainland), home to the capital city of B.C., Victoria.
